Cloud had gotten separated from Tifa, Barret, Red VII, and Yuffie. They had been looking for signs of Sephiroth but Shinra had used the town they were searching in a their personal training facility for their soldiers and experiments from Dr. Hojo.

Cloud was in the middle of the town fighting off Shinra forces while trying to get back to Tifa, Barret, Red VII, and Yuffie.

After fighting for what felt like ages, Cloud found himself in what seemed like an old run down facility beneath the town. Cloud fought various types of monsters and barley made it through. One particular large mutated monster was just too hard to take down and Cloud had to focus on the smaller monsters until, Cloud was alone and was sure he was going to die, until someone arrived. They took out a few of the smaller monsters, drawing the big ones attention and giving Cloud time to take out the smaller ones surrounding him. Cloud was able to defeat the bigger monster as the other person took out the smaller ones.

After the monsters were defeated, Cloud looked over and decided to keep his Buster sword in his hands just in case they weren't friendly. Cloud then spoke.

"Thanks for helping me, but who are you?"

Cloud questioned, suspicious of how skillful this person seemed to be. Cloud appreciated the help, since he'd probably be dead without it, but he still needed to know if they were friendly or not, considering this was an old Shinra facility. That was another question, what was someone else doing in an hold Shinra facility? So many unanswered questions went through Clouds head but he kept his composer and tried to act friendly but not exactly friend.
