Remus huffed as he gazed across his ranch, the burning sun blinding him, until he put his hat on. He walked down the stairs of his porch before the soft dirt crunched under his boots. He probably had to go into town and get some more feed.
First, like always, Remus made his way over to his animals. He set out some food, patted the cows, filled up their water troughs. It was gonna be a long and hot summer, maybe Remus would have to increase his visits.
Finally, he saddled up his horse, Bea, and made his way into town, mentally listing all the things he needed. Remus got to the general store and got off Bea, tying his horse to a post and giving her a friendly pat. "Back soon." Remus muttered and walked to the door.
Luckily, the air was cooler and there was a lot more shade inside. Remus held his hat by his side as he made his way through the rows of items. He'd gotten to the horse food row when Remus noticed an unfamiliar face. A new neighbour, that's rare.
The cowboy was shorter than him, with dark curly hair that fell to his shoulders. Remus moved slightly closer and subtly gave the man a once over. "New here?" He finally asked, voice casual, "'m Remus."
