most likely by one of the mikaelsons, and as much as klaus likes to torment your friends whenever he can, becaue he's just that sadistic β though, he never dares to include you in the tormenting, leaving you completely out of it β it's so obvious that it's not even him.
he usually only makes another move after he's been aggravated or hit unexpectedly with one of your friends' delusional, bound-to-fail, attempts on finally getting rid of him, once and for all.
which is just countless and almost daily now β that had definitely been getting on his nerves.
no, it was so clearly rebekah. which was obvious then, since he did toy with her and used her before this.
so, it's clear that she took him to torture him for wrongfully breaking her heart when she least expected it.
yeah, did it suck? having to betray klaus, after you'd established this weird vibe of him 'fancying' you, despite his obvious hatred towards your friends? sure, it really did.
especially since you were starting to care about him, despite everything he's done.
your ability to believe in the best of people, and also believing in this little thing called 'second chances', probably are the reasons that you'd started to feel things for him so fast.
so, yeah, you felt forced to volunteer to be the one to call up klaus, use yourself, and use his soft spot for you against him, to distract him and flirt with him, while stefan and the others snuck off to klaus' house, in hopes of finding damon and getting him out.
only it doesn't exactly work out, and klaus points it out and questions you on why you're being more susceptible to his flirting then and deciding to flirt back, despite the fact that you act like you hate him.
and you knew that it would be the end for you.
he felt angry, betrayed, and most of all, triggered by your actions β to betray him like that β because it also brought out his paranoia and abandonment issues.
not to mention, rage issues.
so, of course, it resulted in you being on the run from him β katherine style.
except, with you β he's set on finding you β because with katherine, he'd let her think that he was two steps ahead of her and on her ass, when in reality, he didn't care to hunt her that seriously, more so just make her think he was, to torture her.
no, with you, he really is on your ass, desperate and determined to find and catch you β to finally end the hunt.
it's months later, when he's finally caught you in a little town, staying in a trashy motel room for those last few days.
you'd just come out from the crappy bathroom, after a much-needed, hot shower, pjs on with your hair brushed, but damp, only to find him standing and leaning his back against the closed, motel room's door, clearly waiting for you with a smug grin and a tilted-to-the-side head. "ah, hello, love,"

your jaw is dropped, and you almost stammer, not knowing what the hell to say to that.
and you're very much starting to go into flight-or-fight mode right now.
because you know he once had a soft spot for you β would never dare to hurt you β but, that was a long time ago.
who's to say he still even feels those same obsessive, yet genuine feelings for you, after what you did to him? after choosing your friends over him?
after everything he's done for you?
and more importantly, who's to say you won't end up exactly like katherine?
because he had no problem torturing and punishing her with absolutely no mercy, at all, after he finally found her.
it shakes you to your very core that you're next. even if you can handle yourself against him.
