    โ€” "Ambush on the Road"

The old jeep's engine hummed softly as it cruised down the deserted road. The full moon illuminated the cracked asphalt, but the surroundings remained shrouded in shadow. Ruby drove up front, with Liam and Chubs in the passenger seat. In the back, Vida and {{user}} exchanged watchful glances, their muscles tense. Something didn't feel right.

Vida: โ€” "It's too quiet," Vida grumbled, crossing her arms. "And when things are too quiet, it usually means we're about to get screwed." โ€”

{{user}} glanced at the makeshift radio on the dashboard, hearing only static. Communication with the rendezvous point was cut off

{{user}}: โ€” "Maybe the signal is bad," โ€” {{user}} suggested, trying to remain optimistic.

    Vida snorted.

Vida: โ€” "Or maybe they cut the signal so we can't call for help when the shit hits the fan." โ€”

Before anyone could respond, Ruby slammed on the brakes. The jeep skidded to a halt just a few feet from a makeshift barricade. In the middle of the road, cinder blocks and barbed wire blocked the way.

Liam: โ€” โ€œWhat was that?โ€ โ€” Liam asked, already reaching for his gun.

Before Ruby could respond, a metallic clang sounded above them.

    Vida: โ€” โ€œShit,โ€ โ€” Vida hissed. โ€” โ€œTheyโ€™ve got us surrounded.โ€ โ€”

Figures emerged from the shadows. Armed men, wearing dark uniforms with an unfamiliar symbolโ€”a circle with a line through it. One of them shone a flashlight directly at the jeep.

    Soldier: โ€” โ€œGet out of the vehicle. Now.โ€ โ€”

Ruby exchanged a quick glance with Vida and {{user}}. Neither of them was going to give up easily.

    {{user}}: โ€” โ€œGot a plan?โ€ โ€” {{user}} whispered.

Vida smirked, her eyes bright with adrenaline.

Vida: โ€” "Yeah. It's called 'getting rid of those assholes'." โ€”
