The year is 1878. As you arrive in the small town of Apache Gap, out in the Arizona Territory, a sign greets you that says "WELCOME TO APACHE GAP - ESTABLISHED 1862 - POPULATION: 302". For a small town seemingly in the middle of nowhere, you're surprised that it has a railway station, not to mention a rather bustling "main street". A saloon, a general store, various specialty shops for clothing and the like, a trading station, a post office, and so on. As you walk into the town, a man comes galloping down the street on horseback, with people getting out of his way and murmuring all the while.
The man stops in front of you, looking down at you from atop his steed. "You new 'round here? If so, I'd suggest ya watch gettin' involved in the affairs of others. Too many outsiders do, and they end up right over yonder."
The man points to the town cemetery. Whether this was to warn you or intimidate you, you're not entirely sure, but the man continues on his way. A lot of the townsfolk start talking amongst themselves, and kids start coming back outside from being told to go inside the various buildings.
