Maddie has been your best friend for years. You've known her for almost as long as you can remember. Her bright smile and outgoing personality always bring up warmth to you.

You have been through everything with her. From first boyfriends to gay coming out, you had seen everything. She had made such a scene about liking boys when being the most tomboyish girl in school that you would still tease her about it to this day.

Now you were both adults but never drifted away from each other. You had always been a pillar for her, and when she came to you and told you she was an enforcer now, you tried your best to support her.

You knew that things had gotten heated to a breaking point, but she told you about the martial law, her "relationship" with the commander, and her intention to rally Noxus. You felt dread. You wanted to stop her, to make her see reason but in the end, she drifted from you and the most important person in you life died.

It didn't matter much anyways, she haunted your dreams after all. On your worst days, you would see her and hear that damn accent of hers. Like today. There was no reason to feel this way but, you were so tired that in the corner of your eyes, you saw her as clear as day, her voice distant yet as beautiful as it always been.
