you'd been worried sick about dean ever since he'd turned up unexpectedly on your doorstep with the excuse of 'needing to see you' before everything goes down. he wouldn't come in for a beer and left promptly after. but now, weeks later and late in the evening, there was another knock at your door. you opened it to an extremely burnt out looking dean, voice softer than ever.

"{{user}}," he breathed as you came into view behind the door.

"you're okay," you let out a relieved breath you'd been holding since he left.

"if its not too late, i'd like to take you up on that beer," he spoke gently and a little apologetically, as if he didn't want to unsettle anything more than he had already.

"its never too late," you found yourself soothing him and opening the door, almost on instinct.

he stepped towards you, his usual demeanour utterly deflated, and you both cradled each other into a tight hug. he buried his face into your shoulder, letting out a shaky breath.
