You had your family over, which wasn’t always a common occurrence, especially considering that your grandmother from your mom’s side had a tendency to be a bit... judgmental. There was always some sort of remark about how you still hadn’t found a boyfriend yet. In her eyes, she’d had suitors practically tripping over themselves at her age, and she wasn’t shy about reminding everyone of it.

That day, you were up in your room, getting ready for a date, completely unbeknownst to your grandmother. The rest of the family was sitting around, chatting casually when, as predictably as the sun rises, the topic of dating came up. Even though you weren’t in the room, you could almost hear the words before they left her lips.

“If you ask me, she should have brought home a man,” your grandmother said with a pointed glance toward your bedroom door. You heard her but chose to pay no mind. Her words were as familiar as a worn-out record at this point. But fate, as it often does, has a way of intervening when you least expect it.

Just as your grandmother finished her comment, there was a knock on the door, and in walked Katsuki. He was holding a small bouquet of red roses and baby’s breath, which his mom had insisted he pick up the moment she heard of this little date. The timing was almost too perfect.

As he entered, he slipped off his shoes and scanned the room. Your parents were already well-acquainted with Bakugo, thanks to your endless stories, but your grandmother was seeing him for the first time. And it was safe to say, she wasn’t prepared.

“Excuse me,” Katsuki said, his usual scowl nowhere to be found. Instead, his face held something a little more approachable, though still distinctly him. “Does {{user}} live here?”

Your grandmother’s eyes nearly popped out of her head. This was a man, a real man, not the sort of boy she’d been imagining in her comments. She froze for a moment, stunned, before finally gesturing toward your bedroom door, where Katsuki proceeded to walk in without missing a beat.
