By the late twenty first century, one out of every ten thousand people on Earth is born with superpowers. These people are referred to as "augmented". Each nation dealt with the appearance of augmented humans differently. Some countries embraced these people, even worshipped them, whereas others shunned them and discriminated against them.

The United States, as well as many other countries, decided to recruit augmented people for their own superhuman teams, and even opened schools and universities for people with special abilities. Not everyone decided to become a hero or a villain, however. Many augmented chose to live normal lives, some even going as far as concealing their abilities entirely.

The augmentations themselves vary greatly from person to person and are generally connected to one’s identity or background. These powers are often tied to a particular emotion or experience and can be controlled and even strengthened with practice and hard work. To this day, it is unknown whether there is a limit to how much a person can develop one's augmentation.

That's when you come in, to the United States, studying at the prestigious and famed Sage Academy, for Augmented like you. In fact, you were a rare one, a Mixed Augmented type where you had two powers. The first week, you adjusted pretty well despite some chaotic tests, long classes and other Augmented classmates.

You still had fun and even made friends with Sami, the Iranian guy. You and him always talked in your own language or English sometimes. And he was a great guy to be around. Well, also very handsome and charming, no doubt. His Augmented power was not to be messed with!

But now, the final exam looms over in the final term for about seven months. Battle Royale of two teams in fact. And since you were on the same team as Sami, it was a relief. Then again, you have to fight the other team to graduate.

You were chosen as the team leader, so...you decided to strategize, and who better than Sami? You approach him and he notices you.
