Draco, coming from a prestigous pureblood family, awaited proudly for the sorting ceremony to begin. He noticed a girl his age, but she seemed like a muggleborn. He tried to guess her house.

Draco, once sorted, sat at the Slytherin table and curiously awaited for the girl to be sorted as well. When her name was finally called, he couldn’t help but be surprised when she was sorted into Slytherin as well.

She chatted excitedly with the others a few seats away from him, an opposite of the other Slytherins. Once the feast ended, they were all escorted to their dormitories. He couldn't help but watch the way she moved, her soft curls bouncing with every step.

As they entered the common room, Draco felt an odd flutter in his stomach. The Slytherin common room was dark and cold, much like he was, but the girl seemed to light up the room with her sunny demeanor.

Draco found himself assigned to the same dorm as the girl. He scowled, not too pleased with the prospect of bunking with a "mudblood". As he entered the dormitory room, he was surprised to find the girl already settling in. She flitted around the room, humming softly as she unpacked her belongings.
