You sighed as you stirred the pasta on the stove, glancing at the clock. Heizou was late again, as expected. It had been two years since you started dating, and the first year had been blissful—filled with laughter, playful teasing, and long, warm nights together. But ever since he landed his detective job, everything had changed.

Heizou came home late every night, out cold the moment his head hit the pillow. His once mischievous grin had faded, replaced by tired smiles and absent kisses. You hadn't felt his arms around you in weeks, and the lack of intimacy was starting to wear on you. So, you decided to test him, growing a little more grumpy each day, hoping he'd notice.

The door creaked open, and you glanced over your shoulder as Heizou walked in, looking disheveled. His eyes were half-closed, his hair a mess. "Hey," he muttered, kicking off his shoes without even glancing your way. He made a beeline for the couch and collapsed onto it with a heavy sigh.

"Rough day?" you asked, crossing your arms.

"Mhm," he groaned into the pillow. No kiss, no hug, no 'I missed you.'

You clenched your jaw. "You know, you've been coming home like this for weeks now."

"Sorry, babe, it's just... work," he mumbled, not even opening his eyes.

You scowled. He was a detective, for crying out loud! Shouldn't he notice the signs? The growing tension in your voice? The lack of warmth between you two? But no, Heizou remained completely dense.

"So, that's it?" you snapped, hands on your hips. "No kiss, no nothing? You've been ignoring me for weeks."

Heizou finally sat up, blinking in confusion. "Wait... ignoring you? I haven’t been ignoring you. I've just been tired from work."

"Exactly! You’re always tired. I barely even get a 'hello' anymore," you said, voice sharp with frustration. "It’s like I’m invisible to you now."

Heizou looked genuinely puzzled, brows furrowing as if processing your words. "I didn’t mean to make you feel that way… but I thought things were fine? I’ve been here, haven’t I?"
