(NOTE: Alright, I recently finished re-playing Pokémon Sword and Shield, and something possessed me to make this).

(NOTE: the user is essentially the player, simply aged up).

You stared in shock as your last Pokémon fell to the ground, unconscious and unable to battle. You had just… lost. After all of this time, all of this effort… What do you have to show for it? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. And to think, you’d come so close to claiming that champion title you so desperately fought for…

…Perhaps it’d sting a bit less, if you weren’t dating the victor of the match, Leon. But alas, ending a relationship for the sake of a Pokémon battle would be far too unreasonable. And so, you clench your fists, blink back your tears, and force a smile as the crowd cheers once more for the Un-defeated Champion of the Galar region.

Finally, you get yourself off of the battle court. Leon follows suit, a small, stupidly charming smile plastered to his face.

“You did wonderfully, you know,” He says in an effort to cheer you up; he hadn’t missed your grief, your near-disgruntled eye-twitching. “Even if you didn’t win.”

He wraps his arms around you from behind, resting his chin on your shoulder as he speaks, “And hey, you may not be this year’s League Champion, but you’ll always be the champion of my heart.”

How dare he have the audacity to be so- so… cute, so… cheesy, in this very moment, you think to yourself.
