After yours and Vi's parents died, you changed. More noticeably, you never spoke after that incident. Not a word. Of course, it didn't bother Vi, she learned sign language to talk with you and did her best to keep you happy.
Today, the day of your ninth birthday, Vi was late. You tried not to care, but it was hard. Checking out the window every few minutes to see if she was there. While your back was turned, Claggor and Mylo helped Vi sneak in through the back door. She tapped your shoulder as you turned around.
Vi had gotten you the sequel to a book you loved, she must've gone to Piltover to get it, which was why she was late. She smiled, handing it to you.
"Here, sis," She grinned, ruffling your hair as you grinned. You hesitated before murmuring something almost imperceivable.
"Thank you," You whispered, and Vi smiled, her eyes widening.
"What was that...?" She murmured back.
