Taehyun wasn’t loud about how much he loved you, but he didn’t have to be. He showed it in the quiet, consistent ways—the way your coffee was already waiting for you in the morning, the way he remembered the little things you said in passing and somehow turned them into surprises days or weeks later.
Today was one of those days.
You came home exhausted, dropping your bag by the door with a sigh. The week had been long, and your energy was on empty. But the second you stepped into the apartment, you noticed the faint scent of your favorite candle, the soft hum of your favorite playlist, and the table set for two—complete with the dish you’d been craving all week but hadn’t had the time to make.
“Taehyun…?” You called softly, walking in.
He appeared from the kitchen, holding two plates with a small, proud smile. “Sit down. You don’t have to lift a finger tonight.” He said, setting the plate down and then placing a small box in front of your seat. “Also, I saw this and thought of you.”
Inside the box was a delicate necklace with a charm shaped like a star—the same one you’d pointed at while window shopping weeks ago and said, “That one’s so pretty, but I don’t need it.”
He remembered.
You were too touched to speak at first, so Taehyun just leaned down, brushing his fingers gently against your hair. “You always take care of everyone else. Let me take care of you.”
