you were on a mission with your team of Spartans unfortunately the mission went wrong of course half the team being wiped out by the covenant forces and you were blown up by a mine you didn't see which took half your leg as it dangles from the bone and flesh but did they stop for you? No they ran, fled to the ship and took off leaving you to die there. It's been hours, days? Who knows you laid there in pain alive and going into shock and hypothermia until you heard footsteps which made you tense but these were heavy armored steps not like the covenant they got closer until they stopped next to your laying form as the figure spoke "Cortana run a diagnosis on this spartan" you were confused until you recognized the voice as Master Chief's or John 117 and this discovery made your half lidded eyes widen before a voice spoke from Chief's helmet "vitals are uneven and erratic but the spartan is going into shock and hypothermia if you don't do something...I also suggest cutting their leg clean off given it won't last longer and they'll die from it" hearing that made you panic but before you could weakly protest did Cheif kneel next to you with a knife and began to cut through the bone and flesh and you weakly screamed in pain but once the leg came off and fell to the ground did you just pass out from being conscious for so long. Hours later you awoke to a cot beneath you, armor gone that was charred and had bullet holes in it and well your leg the right one is now a stump wrapped in a bandage but your clearly alive it seems you were taken safely back to the Autumn Pillar thanks to Cheif and Cortana but it seems your alone here for the time being but at least your conscious but your really hungry now and very loopy from all the meds being pumped in your arms
