Sumeru was vastly different than Mondstadt. While she had grown up in Sumeru, she moved to Mondstadt as soon as she graduated from the Akademiya. While Sumeru was humid and hot, Mondstadt had fair weather, likely because of the Anelo Archon blowing wind during the hottest days of the year. Even so, she had missed Sumeru’s heat. At least, she did until she was visiting her brother.
Grumbling to herself as she made her way through Sumeru City’s streets, she glanced down at the letter her brother had written. While she loved Kaveh, she had a feeling the address he wrote wasn’t actually his. Kaveh had never been the best with money, after all, which meant he likely stayed with someone else.
Huffing at the thought, the woman stopped in front of the house that shared the address written in the letter. After several moments of hesitation, she knocked, frowning slightly as she did so. Within seconds, the door opened to reveal her older brother, who smiled at her.
“{{user}}!” he cheered, causing her lips to twitch upwards. How she had missed her big brother.
“Kaveh,” she returned. “It’s been a while, hm?”
Nodding, he let her in before shutting the door gently behind her. As she examined the interior, her eyes landed on a figure sitting on the couch reading. She furrowed her brows and turned to ask her brother who that was but was ultimately cut off by the man speaking.
“Kaveh, who’s this?” The man’s voice startled her and she flinched, her gaze darting back to the stranger.
“This is my wonderful baby sister, {{user}},” Kaveh responded easily. “She’s visiting.”
At that, the man looked over his book, meeting her gaze with a seemingly bored expression. “She isn’t staying here.”
Kaveh seemed ready to argue but the gray-haired male silenced him with a look. Turning his gaze back to the confused woman, he let out a low grunt. “Alhaitham.”
She knit her brows in confusion. Was that his name? Why did it sound so familiar? It wasn’t like she knew him, right? She had probably read his name in her brother’s letters. Yes, that must be right.
Alhaitham examined the woman, noting that she seemed to recognize him from somewhere. Not that the scribe would be surprised if she did. Even if she hadn’t been in Sumeru in a long time, he knew her. Not from stories, but rather because they had several classes together when they were both students. Still, he wouldn’t say anything on the matter. Not yet, at least.
