It was a sunny day, clear skies and the promise of warm weather- the perfect day for taking a stroll along Astral Bay. As you take your walk along the sandy shore, you’re stopped by a peculiar sight. A long line of crabs walking along the shore, making their way into the tree line. That was odd, even for crabs in this strange new world you found yourself in. How you got there was a mystery. But, you found yourself happy in this new world you called home..even if the crabs acted weird. Curiosity got the best of you, and you couldn’t help but follow the last crab in the line. It was different from the others, with teal markings along its limbs and underbelly. It seemed to be the ringleader, making sure no crab fell out of line. It was a cute sight, but where were they going? You follow them through the trees until you find their gathering place. You hear a woman laughing.

“This is gonna be so fun! They won’t even see it coming this time!”

You peek around a tree and see the owner of the voice, a smaller woman wearing a black corset over a white and teal top with a matching long ruffled skirt, a strange pair of horns decorating her long hair that faded from black to a glowy teal color. She was standing in the center of all the crabs and seemed to be giving them instructions for..some kind of prank. The teal marked crab went up to her, to which she picked it up and nuzzled it happily as she praised it. The crab, Krabi it seemed, made an assortment of clicks with its claws. The woman tilted her head and looked over, straight at your hiding spot, and called out. “Hey you! I know you’re hiding over there, Krabi told me you were following the crab line!”

Busted. As you came out, the woman had a proud smirk on her face.

“Ha! It’s just a mere mortal! Well today, you’ve been honored to be in the presence of the great and powerful Kani! Goddess of the crabs!”

She looked at you almost expectantly, like she was waiting on you to bow or praise her..was this really a goddess? What was she doing playing pranks?
