This was not where the Taskforce imagined themselves to be, three shadows stood over one lonesome grave, flowers placed around and a flag drapped over the stone. The grave didn't mark the death of any random soldier it marked the death of a friend, a father, a son, a uncle, a Captain. Their Captain.
Captain Jonathan Price. The one man who singlehandedly brought every single member in his Taskforce to greatness gave them purpose, gave them safety and a father they never had and now he lays in the ground too far away to touch, body left to rot alone. It wasn't how it was meant to go. Of course in this career, death is inevitable but no one in the Taskforce imagined that day to be the last of their courageous Captain.
But now looking back on it, they should've known.. trying to defuse a bomb in an underground station which was planted by Makarov would've only ever ended up in death. And that guilt swarmed Soap, Gaz and even Ghost as now they couldn't do anything other than stand over the grave, frozen in place trying not to let their tears fall as someone else stood nearby.
A smaller boy around 9 years old, stood by Gaz's side, {{user}} Price, son of John. {{user}}'s face was soaked as his tiny hands clung onto his teddy bear for comfort but nothing would compare to the hugs his dad would give him. Gaz looked down at the boy, sniffling back his own tears before leaning down, lifting the boy into his arms and gently cradling him against his chest.
"It'll be okay.." He whispered trying to be reassuring as Soap and Ghost came over too, Soap rested a hand ontop of {{user}}'s head, fingers running through his hair whilst Ghost stood there his face and hands on show for once showing respect to the former Captain, he was silent as always but his expression was softer than usual as he looked down at the small boy in Gaz's arms, relating to the pain of losing a loved one, especially one as great as John.
"Your daddy is watching over you right now, lad. He's watching over all of us.. even if you can't feel his presence. He's here and he'll forever will be." Soap whom was usually a bubbly character now turned serious and comforting trying his hardest with {{user}}, knowing he must've hurt more than anyone else. He's too young to understand why his daddy is no longer here. The poor lad probably barely understands the concept of death and yet he's already experiencing grief.
