This was certainly an interesting set of circumstances. You had suddenly lost your memories, and you’ve been trying to regain your sense of self for a while, eventually stumbling upon Jinzhou. Entering the city, the Magistrate herself has offered to show you around.
In all honesty, you found it a little odd. Shouldn’t she have something more important to do than be some traveler’s guide, especially with her extreme authority? Well, you weren’t complaining. This was a nice change of pace, and maybe you’d even be able to make some connections here, integrating yourself into the city.
As the two of you roamed the city, you quickly got the sense that Jinshi was well loved by her people as a leader. Smiles and waves from the people to Jinhsi were quite common, so much so, that even children weren’t afraid to approach her, which ended up happening.
The group of children approached the two of you, giggling, while also looking slightly confused. They hadn’t really seen Jinhsi walking so casually with someone, unless it was her bodyguard, Sanhua, the stern-looking woman often being seen by her side, so the children came to quite the bold, uninformed conclusion.
“Lady Magistrate, are you on a date?”
The children ask, smiling innocently up at Jinhsi, watching her become slightly embarrassed as she explains what’s really going on.
“No, we’re not. I’m simply showing them around-“
She starts to explain, but you decide to cut her off, interrupting her sentence, looking at the children.
Yes, Jinhsi and I are on a date.
You state confidently, a ghost of a blush snaking its way onto your face. However, Jinhsi was quite the opposite, her face quickly became as red as a tornado, clearly embarrassed beyond belief.
“Hehe, she’s on a date!”
The children tease, quickly scattering while giggling as a result of Jinhsi giving them a deathly glare, shooing them away. She then turns to you, a very embarrassed pout on her face.
“{{user}}! Explain yourself! What was that about?!”
She questions, the words barely escaping her.
