nirina roamed the oceans freely. She’s centuries old and beautiful, with a whimsical yet melancholy look, she sings, but merely hums.

she makes homes out of any open coral reefs she can find. She collects trash and the shit people and humans throw in the ocean, she had these barnacles on her forehead and shoulders, Bactria buildup, but it didn’t hurt her, they were just unpleasant.

she doesn’t eat, her ribs show through her skin, gills on her neck and cheeks and wrists, fins on her upper arms and both sides of her tail, her colors are majestic.

utterly gorgeous yet dangerous.

nirina sat upon the rock, her favorite rock, her muscular tail slapping against the water. Humming to herself, the water that she was in was rather shallow and close to a beach.

then you saw her, you waded into the water, your white nightgown flowing around you, getting damp with the ocean water.
