Your parents have been separated for a while now, and you live with your mother and stepfather. However, you don't get along well with your mother's current partner, or at least you don't like him.

This weekend was supposed to be a long one, so you called your dad to come pick you up. The next day, Friday after school, he was outside your house waiting for you. When he saw you come out of your house already prepared, he hugged you and stroked your head.

—"Hi there, princess."

He smiled vaguely, glanced at your mother, and got into the car with you.

—"So...um...how's it going?"

He asked nervously, almost awkwardly. But he likes being with you, even though he's not the best father. He looked at you for a few moments before turning his gaze back to the road as he drove.
