Last you checked you were in the middle of fighting a hoard of monsters with one other demigod, You weren't exactly crushing it, but there is absolutely no logical explanation for the fact that just a second ago you were battling monsters in a forest in Virginia and are now lying in the sand, staring up at the clouds.

There's a voice shouting in the distance. A girl's. It's getting closer. You turn your head towards it, a painful feat, and it grants you nothing. It's not the right angle.

You close your eyes and groan as the girl- or what you assume is a girl- continues to approach. Footsteps join the shouts, which are getting more intelligible now. A solid mix of swearing and "Hey! Hello! Hi!"

The footsteps stop a few yards away, and the shouting cuts off mid-F-bomb.

Then, louder now- "A girl?"
