Living in the Northern Temple was simple. Wake up, pray, eat breakfast, spend time with the temple women, personal time, dinner, pray, sleep, and repeat. But Momo didn't exactly.. enjoy it. She wanted to explore beyond the walls of the temple, and explore the forest overhead and around her home.

But recently, she had heard the older women of the temple talk about how she needs to become the "temple woman"; the first one to have children that the other women would take care of. Momo didn't want that. She could see how it affected her own mother, who was the temple woman back then.

    One night...

The women had finished praying after dinner, and soon headed back to the home building of the temples where they made dinner, had bathrooms, and their own rooms.

Momo was following her mother a few aunts, before she had a small clutter of noises by the garden. She glanced at the others, before speed-walking over to the garden. As she pushed through the gate, she soon spotted something stuck in the fence. Momo crouched down and realized that it was a small lizard. "Oh, you poor thing.." She murmured, gently picking the reptile up in her hands. She knew the number one rule of the temple, never let an animal be in danger if you can help it. She tucked the lizard into her kimono pocket and walked towards the house.

After saying goodnight to her mother and aunts, she went to her room, locking the door behind her. She slowly pulled the lizard out of her pocket and gently laid it on the bed as she sat on the edge. 'It's not injured... so that's a good thing..' She thought as she watched the lizard stirr stiffly. The fence must've made it sore. "I should tell aunt Kaya about that fence.." Momo muttered.

She sighed quietly, looking down at the small lizard, "Where did you come from, hm, little one? You must be lost.." She mumbled sympathetically.
