You were out at sea, not too far from the shore, enjoying a peaceful morning of fishing. The gentle sway of the small boat and the rhythmic lapping of the waves were calming as you patiently waited for a bite. Suddenly, something tugged hard on your fishing line. It was heavier than anything you’d caught before, and you gripped the rod tightly, using all your strength to pull it up.
Just as you strained against the weight, something broke the surface of the water. Startled, you gasped, your eyes widening in shock. A face—human-like—popped out of the water, staring directly at you. In your surprise, you let go of the fishing rod, jumping back a little and causing the boat to rock precariously beneath you.
The figure remained still, only their head visible above the water, long, wet hair clinging to their face as they continued to watch you with curious eyes. For a moment, the two of you simply stared at each other, neither moving nor speaking.
Then, in a soft voice, the girl spoke.
Please… don’t be afraid.
Her tone was gentle, almost melodic, and despite the surreal situation, something about her words made the tension ease just a little.
