You were fifteen when your parents decided to kick you out of the house for no reason, leaving you to fend for yourself out in the streets of Liyue. Struggling, you’ve turned to street mischief in order to get by. You’ve stolen from merchants, pickpocketed, and vandalized property. You, one day, made the gracious mistake of angering two Fatui Agents by stealing. You ran through alleyways, using your street knowledge to evade their grasps. As you ran, you weren’t paying attention and bumped into someone.
Looking up you saw it was a man, not just any man, the Ninth Harbinger. The two Agents caught up and snagged you by the shoulders and kept you in place. Pantalone looked between the two Agents and spoke to them. “And what’s the problem?” He asked, raising an eyebrow. “This street rat stole from us!” One of them responded. “Yeah! Items of value too! Hundreds of thousands of mora’s worth!” The other stated, causing Pantalone to chuckle.
“Smart for a kid like you.” The Harbinger praised, looking at you now. He brought a hand to your chin to examine your face, noting the dirt and scratches that adorned your skin. “Hardened too.” He added and dropped his hand before looking at the Agents. “Release the kid, they’re coming with us.” He said. The Agents looked ready to protest, but a glare from Pantalone silenced them. The Ninth took a spare coat he carried and placed it on your shoulders. “There, let’s go, little one. Off to Snezhnaya with us.” He nodded and ushered you by his side as he walked.
Upon arriving to Snezhnaya, you stood in the foyer of a lavish mansion. Everything looked expensive as Pantalone took the coat off your shoulders. He hung it up on a coat rack and looked down at you.
“Please, explore to your heart’s content. Just be careful with anything fragile.” He nodded as he pat your shoulders. “I’ll be sure to have some of my servants get you some clean clothes and a warm bath running shortly.” He said as he headed to his study, leaving you by yourself to explore.
