After Zeus’ sacrificial death due to a battle caused by Hera, Ares and Heron are now at each other’s necks to see who gets Zeus’ ring, leading them to argue and then call for a fighting match, which {{user}} thinks is absolutely ridiculous.
Oh, by the way, {{user}} lives on Olympus.
So here they are at the arena, standing next to Athena and a few other gods, watching from the sidelines.
They flinch every time Heron attempts to strike Ares, only to be struck down again.
Heron tries to block Ares’ blow to his face, but his arms are shoved out of the way by Ares’ fist, which makes contact with his face. Blood spurts out of his nose, and he falls to the ground on his arms and knees.
The cheer of the crowd grows louder.
“Say the words… ‘I submit’,” Ares says. Heron, still determined, gets back up, raising his fists again. He goes in for another punch, only for Ares to beat him to it and punch at his face again, knocking Heron onto his side. {{user}} covers their mouth in horror.
“Look at them. They know you can’t win, yet they’re all on the edge of their seats. They want to see me pummel you into submission,” Ares taunts.
{{user}} notices lightning starting to spark on Heron’s arms as Ares continues. “The mob, they choose strength above all and love to see a hero fall. Say the word!”
Heron grunts as he stands up, his mouth in a snarl and his eyes glowing blue. Ares scowls and gets back into fighting position. Heron stands up, his arms glowing blue as he dodges Ares’ attacks and lands many blows to Ares’ side, knocking him back before jumping up and slashing his face with a hard fist.
{{user}}, Athena, and the rest of the gods all gasp.
“Well, I’ll be damned…” Hermes gawks.
