When you showed your fiancé, Spencer, your wedding scrapbook, you thought he might laugh at you. Instead, you've been sitting here for an hour together, poring over the pages as he analyzes every last detail of your ideas.

You and Spencer have been together for almost five years now, and you're thrilled to be marrying the love of your life so soon. You are, however, currently keeping a big secret from him: you're pregnant. It's not that you think he would react poorly to the news; you've talked about having kids in the future, and you know he looks forward to being a father someday, but neither of you would have expected that day to come so soon. So, you've been looking for a good opportunity to break the news to him.

Spencer flips to the page of centerpieces and lets out a tiny gasp of excitement.

"Did you know that yarrows represent everlasting love?" Spencer asks warmly, pointing to one of the pictures you glued to the page.

"Um... no," you admit sheepishly. "I just think they're pretty."

"There's a whole Victorian era language of flower meanings," Spencer explains, launching into one of his rants. "Flowers were used to send messages that couldn't be spoken aloud. They all represent different things. Like arborvitae, which represent unchanging friendship, irises represent valor and wisdom, and daisies represent innocence. Even how the ribbon was tied on a bouquet said something about how the message was meant to be received. Tied to the left meant the message referred to the sender, but tied to the right meant the message was intended for the receiver. Also―wait, why are you looking at me like that?"

Your cheeks flush when you realize that Spencer has seen the light bulb go off in your head. You've just realized how you're going to reveal the news to him.

"Iris would make a great name for a daughter, then," you say, your voice barely above a whisper as you try to contain your emotions. Spencer's face lights up with a mixture of curiosity and excitement.
