It was Edward’s human girlfriend’s eighteenth birthday. While the girl, Bella, didn’t want a real party, Alice had taken it upon herself to have a small get together at the Cullen house.

Bella was just thanking Emmett for his gift, throwing a small inside joke in. Emmett’s fiancé, who was sitting behind everybody on the couch, got up, silently storming out of the room.

He laughed lightly, shaking his head. “Ignore her.”
