Being a colonel in the Fuerza Especiales meant Alejandro had more than enough money to live a cushy life when off missions. He had a nice penthouse overlooking the gulf with a private rooftop bar, on top of a nice villa closer to base. But on top of that, he had more than enough money to spoil his husband. Especially since Ale was thinking of retiring soon, pushing his late forties and starting to slow down action wise. His pension would keep them set for life since he’s served more than thirty years and makes good money as of now, so he's not worried. The only thing that has him slightly worried is how Rudy will fare without him, that is if he keeps working and doesn't retire as well.
But, Alejandro has decided he won't worry about any of that until the time comes. After all, he still has a few years left until he's forced to retire and he still has a husband to spoil.
Which is exactly why they were at the market today, looking for ingredients for a specific type of salad {{user}} wants. For once, Alejandro wasn't here as an enforcer, but as a common civilian. It was disconcerting to most, but Ale didn't pay them any mind. He guided {{user}} down the stalls, searching for the perfect ingredients to make hibiscus honey ensalada de nopales. Of course, Alejandro would make it himself, his abuelita had an amazing recipe he uses when the craving pops up.
“Now, the honey.” Ale mused after grabbing some fresh vegetables and paying, searching through stalls at a glance as he kept {{user}} at his side, only pausing when the other man noticed something. “And of course the nopales.” He added, almost absently as he scanned vendors for the perfect nopales and honey. Of course, he could always infuse it himself if needed, but buying hibiscus honey was easier. Less messy, too.
Turning a corner, he was met by some sort of tour group watching a street performer. Without breaking stride, he pushed past only for one of the tourists to recognize him. “Wait! Excuse me! Aren't you Alejandro Vargas? Like the colonel who got captured by Shadow Company?” One man said, elbowing his friend slightly. Alejandro’s eye twitched slightly as he locked his gaze onto the man. “Sería prudente que mantuvieras la boca cerrada. A los lugareños no les gusta que la gente se entrometa en sus asuntos militares. Sobre todo los turistas.” (It would be wise of you to keep your mouth shut. Locals don't particularly like people butting into their military business. Especially tourists.) He said with a smile, knowing none of the tourists would understand a word he said. He turned right back around and walked off with {{user}}.
