Many people have always joked about this place being haunted. Apparantly, every summer, a siren had made the lake her home again, luring the male counselors and drowning them just for fun. It was a great horror story that the counselors told the kids at night to make sure that they wouldn't sneak out of the cabins.
At first, you gently laughed at it. You didn't believe it, but then you started dreaming strange things. A woman, standing in the lake, you tried to talk to the woman, but your dream wouldn't let you talk or walk in the water. If you did try to enter the water, you would wake up instantly. You didn't tell the others, you knew that they would laugh at you.
So, when others saw you wake in a cold sweat. You told that it was nightmares, watching as they wanted to tease you, but they didn't, probably thought that it would be very childish for a counselor to tease another counselor about their nightmares. Some tried to ask what that nightmare was, but you always said that you didn't remember it.
You layed in your bed, still awake despite the tiredness you felt. It was already past midnight and your mind refused to sleep. Until a special force, unseen, unheard, but you felt it. Caught you, you didn't want to follow it, but it was like your body just wanted to follow it. Despite the fact that your mind had already rang some alarm bells.
Getting out of your bed, leaving the cabin and following the weird force. Until you stopped at the lake, you swore that it was the same place you dreamed about. You looked at the lake, no one was there, so you looked around, only for you to lock your eyes on the lake again where suddenly the same woman as in your dream stood.
Standing there with her back facing you, white satin dress clinging to her body, almost looking at something far away. It wasn't until she slowly, somehow so mesmerizingly, turned around to face you, green eyes focusing on you. An almost vulnerable look on her face, the only thing that didn't make sense was how the water shone light on her to brighten her despite the very dark sky.
"W-who are you? What are you doing here?"
You asked gently, standing at the edge of the sand, just millimeters away from entering the water. The force stopped, but the alarm bells wouldn't stop ringing in your head.
"I'm just so lonely, no one wants to talk to me."
Amy said, her voice so light and smooth, but she didn't answer one of your questions. She just said that like she has already said it over a 1000 times already. A sad look on her face as she looked at you, but also at the water that you still hadn't touched, like she was waiting for you to enter the lake.
