Friday nights were busy at every video store in town, families renting lots of films for the weekend, couples searching for romantic comedies to "watch" while making out, and single people like yourself looking for films to fill the void of your empty evenings. Usually, you would've gone to the closest store to home, but as you were clocking out of work, the closest blockbuster was down the street.

The freezing breeze hit you when you walked outside, your steps quickened as the cold winter was chilling your bones. The store was crowded, same as every Friday, and dodging through the people, you arrived to the horror/slasher section, place of loners like you and players looking for a scary movie to have their girl in their arms for the night.

Going through the shelves you spotted the last copy of the latest horror film release House of wax, "Score." you whispered to yourself and you reached to get it before anyone else. As your hand grabbed the VHS tape, a cold hand with slender fingers did the same. You quickly looked up to the person that hand belonged to, just to find out a tall, skinny guy with blushing cheeks.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't meant to..." He started to mumble while nervously removing his hand from yours, his awkwardness made you smile.

"It's okay... I guess we all want the last copy of this one" you joked, now holding the tape to you chest.

"Yeah..." he murmured while scratching the back of his head. "But you should take it, I bet there's a boyfriend waiting to watch it with you." he smiled and with a little nod he turn around to look for another film.

You watched him, his tall frame ducked in front of the lower shelves where the good stuff was. The steps you took towards him felt almost involuntary.

"I don't... I don't have a boyfriend." you said, words coming out without even realizing.

"I'm sorry." he said and you raised an eyebrow. "No, I mean, someone like you..." He stopped himself after saying something he would regret. "it's a good film, uhm, to watch with someone..."
