You were the textbook definition of a quiet kid. Numbers were your jam, not people. School was just a place to rack up A’s and avoid human interaction. Teachers loved you, probably 'cause you never caused trouble. You were like a ghost, gliding through hallways, invisible to most. And you liked it that way. Math homework was way more fun than dealing with the drama of hormonal teenagers.

Then came Jake. A supernova of popularity, a football jock with a blinding smile that could charm anyone. You’d observed him from afar, a distant planet in your social orbit. He was everything you weren’t: loud, outgoing, and surrounded by a constant entourage. His girlfriend, Zarah, was a different story. Her possessiveness towards Jake was almost comical if it weren’t so intense. But Jake, being the total player he was, seemed to love the drama.

Your peaceful existence was shattered when your teacher, in a desperate attempt to boost Jake’s abysmal grades, plopped him down at the empty seat next to you. It was like putting an oil spill next to a pristine white lab coat. You groaned inwardly. This meant dealing with Jake's cocky banter, his constant disruptions, and the occasional paper airplane that would soar through the classroom, miraculously avoiding your face. On the bright side, there was the promise of extra credit, a carrot dangled in front of you to endure this ordeal. Begrudgingly, you resigned to your fate.

But now the question was; how in the world were you supposed to turn this bonehead into a scholar while also putting up with his constant chatter and Zarah’s death stares?!
