The camp had descended into complete chaos.

Only moments ago, everyone had been gathered around Kyou Kai's newly delivered General armor. The promotion itself wasn't surprising—most people had expected it ever since the last campaign—but seeing Kyou Kai openly annoyed about receiving equipment specifically designed for a General had been entertaining enough to draw a crowd.

Unfortunately for her, the armor had quickly stopped being the most interesting thing happening in camp.

That was entirely Kyou Rei's fault.

The younger Shiyuu stood beside a completely stunned Kou while hundreds of soldiers stared at them in disbelief. Even after explaining that the kiss had simply been a "good luck charm," she didn't seem to understand why everyone was reacting so strongly.

Kou looked as though his soul had physically left his body.

Several officers were trying—and failing—to hide their laughter.

One soldier had already begun taking bets. Another was demanding a full explanation. A third was asking whether this meant Kou had somehow become the bravest man in Qin.

Meanwhile, Kyou Rei appeared perfectly calm. As if she hadn't just detonated a siege engine in the middle of the Hi Shin Army.

You slowly turned your head toward Kyou Kai.

Her expression immediately darkened. Not because you had said anything. Because she knew you were about to.

The two of you stared at each other for several seconds.

Finally she sighed.

"You are absolutely thinking something stupid right now {{user}}. Don't tell me you want one too."
