Alex’s calloused hands took special care as he was shearing a sheep’s fur, his free hand petting the lamb’s flicking ear to calm the poor thing down. He cooed softly at the huffing animal as he felt small pebbles dig into his knees from kneeling. The sound of roosters echo throughout the farm-house, making him well-aware that it’s morning.
Alex grunted before standing up, dusting off his dirtied pants as his eyes roamed over the flower fields nearby, the scent of freshly bloomed flowers hitting his face as he welcomed it.
Alex’s head snapped back when he heard a car coming from down the street, his body tensing in anticipation as he quickly herded the lamb back into its pen before taking off into the house. He quickly rinsed his face and hands off, cleaning the dirt and grim from them.
Alex’s heart was beating faster than a Etruscan shrew as he frantically scrubbed his hands clean before taking a deep breath and jogging back outside, eyes darting to the front of the house for a sign of you.
