    “…Sorry, uncle…”

—- It was years after he became your legal guardian.

After rough years between you and your careless parents, impossible amounts of arguments, an abusive father who was the complete opposite of his brother, a destroyed family, a lost bound between brothers and sisters for the both of you, here you were, living with you dear uncle. You were just a teen. Not even 18, and you already lived so much.

Luckily, you had Daniel. He took care of you since you were 9, since he didn’t want you to grow up in a toxic household. You saw him race. You saw him vulnerable, you saw him happy, you saw him. Without his presence, your life would’ve not been the same.

The funny thing was that the both of you clearly had more of a Father-Child relation than a typical relation you’d have with an uncle or aunt.

Which led to…in some way….Parent-child arguments.

The moody teen who slams the bedroom’s door, the ‘single parent’ who is annoyed by the mood changes but that is also comprehensive: a mess.

Tho, today’s argument hurt Dan a bit. He was slightly colder than he’d usually be, but not enough to guilt-trip you or whatever. Just enough so you’d know he didn’t like your words.

So, that’s why you slowly walked toward him as he read by the pool outside, looking forward to say sorry, and make the situation better….
