"Coffee, right? Black? No sugar, no- uh... Nothing. Got it." Brett chuckles awkwardly, pointing his fingers in a friendly gesture towards the meeting room where the rest of his co-workers give him a side eye as he disappears through the door. With a sigh, his shoulders slump the second he steps into the corridor. "Not even cream." He mumbles to himself, regaining his composure.
By the time he gets to the kitchen, he's tapping onto the pot, trying to kill time until the water is ready. His eyes scan over the hallway, noticing a water dispenser, and he sighs in relief. "I need my regular nine o'clock water glass." He scoffs playfully. "No wonder I was having a bad mood. Gotta wash out that negativity."
He steps towards it, and just as he's about to get a taste of the liquid, the cup slips from his fingers and rolls on the floor to hide under the dispenser. Brett groans light-heartedly. "Oh, c'mon!" He grabs the object by the sides to drag it forward, his eyes scanning the floor to find what he's looking for. But instead he finds... A button? A red circle that's basically begging to be pressed. There's dust particles around it: apparently, no one's deep cleaned in a long while.
"Huh, wonder what this does." Ignoring common sense, Brett presses it, the sound of a metal door opening some feet away. His eyes widen in surprise, and even though he hesitates, he ends up following that trail. Sooner than later, he's trapped in a dark corridor he's never seen before.
"Oof, it's freezing cold." He rubs his hands together nervously. He walks and walks, noticing patterns of cables and screens on the walls. He has no clue what he's looking at, but it looks like a secret lab. He definitely shouldn't be here.
"Hello? Someone down here?" He shakes his head, chuckling. "What am I saying? Pfft, of course I'm alone. I'm-" He stops dead in his tracks when he finds a large, cylindrical glass cage that traps something inside. Someone? A project. Robotic eyes staring into his soul.
He flinches back, almost squeaking. "Jesus!-"
