When you first joined the military, it was a rough entry. Cold stares, avoidant interactions, more demanding exercises because you could 'handle it'. Everyone just wanted to be left alone, sometimes that included you, wanting nothing but to just stay miles away from everyone and their crude comments or overbearing sympathies. And why so many problems? Why did everyone seem to not know what to do around you? Because you were a hybrid. And your anamalystic traits and scars from literal years of abuse were just too much for some soldiers to look you in the eye.
But the 141 was different. Or at least they tried to be. Price treated you like a normal recruit, Soap adapted to adapting your nature as friendly banter at times, Laswell took care of you more so as her kid than a hybrid, Gaz learned about the species your DNA was mixed with to understand you and how you lived better, and even though Ghost was a bit off standish at first, Roach assured you he was the same with everyone, which was evident in his actions. It was the first time in a long time that you weren't just a monster, and yet there was still that feeling, that small feeling that something was always just 'off' when you interacted with everyone. But you pushed it aside, most days. What else could you do, really?
