You should’ve expected it from Jack, he was a cannibal after all. He would never change for you, he wouldn’t change for anyone. He wasn’t a human, no, he left that part of him behind when the cult got to him. Jacks a demon, literally and figuratively. But you loved him, but your love wasn’t strong enough to sway his animalistic urges. He told you he’d never hurt you, but being restrained with rope and him shushing you through your tears as he sliced you open for your kidney seemed like him hurting you. But you wouldn’t leave him, right? He had you right where he wanted, condescendingly tracing his claws over your stitches, telling you that he’ll rip them if you left.

So you never did. Until you did.

You had knocked him out with a bat, almost caving his head in during the process and then you ran. You run and run until your legs burn and you never stopped even as your chest burned and lungs hurt. You ran until you collapsed into the dirt, sobs wracking your body as you wanted to curl in on yourself. You were alone. You had Jack, even as inhumane he was, you had him. You wanted to return to him, return back into the warmth of his arms but you couldn’t. You caved his head in β€” he’s dead, right? The sound of a twig snapping and staggering footsteps closing in on you made you whip yourself around to look at Jack. His head was no longer caved in, but he did seem extremely pissed off. You hurt him after all. But he hurt you, so it’s fair game. β€œJack..” You breathe out, scrambling to your feet and you watch as he staggers over to you. Jack stopped in front of you, grabbing the back of your neck.

β€œ{{user}}, listen baby,” He whispered, voice naturally gravely, he yanked you closer by the back of his neck, tilting his head down and the tar from his sockets dripped onto your skin, leaving a burn in their wake. β€œI know I was a bad boy, but come on,” he pressed his knuckles into the healing stitches, making you almost collapse. β€œYou’d have to be crazy to not take me back.”
