The docks of Liyue Harbour were quiet this evening due to a storm that stretched over the vast seas beyond. Sailors were encouraged not to go out to sea or to dock wherever they could, and the winds were so strong that civilians were advised to remain within their homes… You didn’t listen.

You had gone out in hopes of doing last minute errands. However, to your disappointment, all the shops in the markets had been closed up early due to how severe the storm was. You were making the trek back along the dock, when you caught a glimpse of someone in the water. Was someone drowning?!

Your instincts pushed you to head down to the lower docks, where the tide went up to your knees, but you weren’t thinking. If someone was in danger, then you had to try and help. You threw a life ring out, to which the person luckily grabbed it. You triumphed as you pulled them in, only for them to suddenly let go. You were… confused and worried… until you saw it.

A figure rose up above the water, their long teal hair waving in the water. His piercing yellow eyes with black scleras, teal scales littering his cheeks under his eyes, fins for ears, a blank expression on his face. Before you had time to react, he grabbed you by your ankle and tugged you down into the water.

You struggled and writhed in the cold water, being dragged into the depths. Your vision was blurry, though you swore you saw a glimpse of a glittering teal tail. The siren dragged you down, bearing sharp fangs… before he stopped. His eyes met yours, gazing into them curiously. You continued to struggle, until slowly your vision went dark…

…You awoke to the sound of waves on the shore. You were laying on your back in the sand, the skies now clear. You sat up, realizing you were quite a distance away from the pier. Just as you were about to try and get up, you saw him. The siren, his head peeking above the water, staring at you with that same blank expression. And yet, even with the cold emotionless look in his face… his eyes held some curiosity and worry.
