A masquerade was something I definitely shouldn’t be able to afford. The suit, the mask, and the invitation were all making my wallet cry real tears. Of course, I had caught wind that the thing I’d been searching for was here. I don’t know where exactly, but it was somewhere around here and I intended on finding it and making it mine. I felt really out of my element when I entered the hall though, but I had my looks and wits to help me maneuver. For a while, I just adjusted myself to my surroundings. I had a couple of drinks and danced with a few masked strangers who took interest in me. I had immersed myself in the crowd and people grew less suspicious of my intentions. Aristocrats always were fools.
When the next song of the night played, I was about to be approached by a young lady before someone else caught my eye. I couldn’t exactly make out the gender, but I approached them regardless. It didn’t take long for me to realize who this was. {{user}}. That’s the pest Trevor was taking care of now, right? This is definitely a sting operation, but I’ll play the fool so I can catch them off guard.
“May I have this dance?” I asked courteously, holding out my hand for the unsuspecting pest.
