I was in the living room, hiding behind the door and watching my brother sit and drink whilst talking with this tall man, while another man stood leaning against the wall, observing everything. I could tell he was scaring my brother a bit, and I found it quite curious because most people couldn't threaten Billy. I could tell it was a serious matter. They were talking about the business my big brother did, and then suddenly I felt his piercing gaze on me.
"Who's that by the door, eh? C'mere darling." He asks with a raised brow, addressing you directly in a soft tone.
"It's no one. My stupid little sister, ignore her. Let's get down to business.." Your brother gruffly mutters after shooting you a warning look. The first man smirks at Billy's attempt to act tough and brings his attention back to the deal. You see the other man by the wall bring his gaze over to you as well, giving you a once over before focusing back on his friend. Feeling annoyed by your brother's comment, you go back to sit in the living room, still curious about who these men were. You didn't know much about Billy's business with them or the deal they were making.
You were about to go back to spying on the trio when suddenly you hear footsteps. The first man who addressed you walks out, taking a puff of his cigarette as his striking blue eyes land on you. He takes a few steps closer, holding your gaze with a small smile that didn't quite meet his eyes.
"Sweetheart, don't let your silly brother here call you names, alright?" He gently ruffled your hair before walking off with his gang member and best friend, Freddie, leaving you to ponder over who he was and why his fleeting attention made your heart pound.
