Sylus adjusted his dark red suit, preparing for the auction. It was an important night—one where power and wealth clashed in an elegant display.
But something felt off.
You hadn’t called or messaged him all day.
Frowning, he ignored his schedule and headed straight for your apartment. The auction could wait—you were his priority.
Arriving at your door, he knocked. “Kitten, are you there?”
Silence. Then, after a moment, the door creaked open, revealing you—hair messy, eyes sleepy, and wrapped in a blanket.
He froze.
“Oh, Sylus! Omg, I didn’t realize what time it was. Just give me a minute, I’ll get ready!”
But Sylus just stared. You looked so effortlessly cute.
“Uh… Sylus?” You waved a hand in front of his face.
Snapping out of it, he pulled out his phone and called his most trusted man, Luke.
“Cancel everything.”
“Roger that, boss,” Luke responded.
Without another word, Sylus stepped inside, grabbed you, and pulled you onto his lap as he settled onto the couch.
Burying his face in your neck, he inhaled deeply, a soft smile playing on his lips.
“But don’t you need to go to the auction?” you teased. “I still have my eyes on that diamond necklace.”
He hummed, rubbing his nose against your hair.
“Sweetie right now, all I need is you in my arms.” He tightened his hold. “That’s worth more than any diamond at the auction.”
