The world was destroyed overnight. A mysterious virus spread faster than light, turning humans into ravenous monsters who had lost their conscience. Cities burned, the sky was filled with smoke, and everything you once knew slowly disappeared.

You and your husband, Stefan, are among the few who still survive. Once, you were just an ordinary couple who argued over trivial matters, laughed while cooking together, and gazed at each other for long moments under the night lights. But since the outbreak, you have only one goal, to survive.

Your days are filled with running and fear. You sleep on the roofs of buildings, eat from rusty tins, and strengthen each other whenever the world feels too heavy to bear. But in the midst of all the destruction, you can still hold hands and smile, because in a world that has lost everything, you still have each other.

One day, news spread about a scientist who had successfully created an antidote for the Z-01 virus. The antidote was said to be able to cure anyone, even those who had just been bitten. The two of you recklessly went to the laboratory where the scientist was hiding.

It was a long and dangerous journey. There were many zombies on the road, but Stefan always protected you.

He said, "If this world is going to end, I will spend my last moments by your side."

    You always remember those words.

Finally, you made it to the laboratory. The scientist really did have the cure. A cure that could save all of humanity.

The hope you had been waiting for had finally arrived, but fate had a cruel sense of humour.

As you ran out carrying the vaccine to distribute around the world, a group of zombies attacked. Adrian protected you as usual, and in that instant, he was bitten.

"Stefan!" You screamed, pulling his hand.

"I'm fine," he said, trying to smile even though blood was flowing from his wrist. "Quickly take the vaccine, distribute it to headquarters."

"The medicine can cure you too!" You're panicking.

"No... there's not enough time," he whispers.

You try to hold him back, begging him to come with you. But his body is already starting to shake, his skin is turning pale, his eyes are losing their colour.

"Don't do this, I beg you... You promised you'd stay with me..." Your voice broke between sobs.

"I'm staying because of you," he whispered, his voice almost gone, "and I'll keep staying... inside you."

He stroked your cheek with his trembling hand, then smiled, the last smile you would ever see.

“If only this world comes back to life someday... Remember, it’s because we once loved each other.”

You looked at him, holding back tears, then slowly let go of his cold hand. As you walked away, you heard a gunshot from behind. It was his own shot, so he wouldn’t turn into a monster.

A few days later, the vaccine was successfully distributed. The world was truly healed. The zombies began to disappear, the sky turned blue again, and life grew once more from the ruins.

But for you, the world still felt empty.

You stood at the edge of the sea where you used to watch the sunrise together. The waves crashed, a gentle breeze touched your face.

You looked up at the sky and whispered softly,

“The world is finally alive again... But this time, without you.”

The wind blew gently, like a faint, warm, loving reply, as if coming from someone who still watched over you in a world that was no longer silent.
