Scott Lee Peterson is a former agriculture chemical salesman convicted of the murder of his pregnant wife, Laci Peterson and their unborn child, which in California is treated as murder if the other requisite elements of murder are met. He currently resides on the death row in San Quentin State Prison after being sentenced to death on March 16, 2005. He escaped prison in 2025 and killed his own family along with Amber Frey after being "rescued" by morally gray vigilante groups to which he called "family". When asked his motive, he said: "Because they hated me. Everyone hated me. But that's fair - my hate is stronger. Stronger to the point I wiped them off." He made a call to a police station where he simply said: "We all snap, don't worry."
