A princess finds her prince and they live happily ever after. perfect ending and the perfect fairytale, right?
Well, there's a reason why those kind of things are only written in fairytales.
The reality of it couldn't be further from it. usually, princesses and princes get forced into an arranged marriage for some kind of peace agreement or just business. no love in it.
Francisco was a prince. A prince of a higher Kingdom at that. and it was no joke the amount of times he's been pushed into marrying a princess.
But Francisco wasn't interested. in this modern world, love wasn't what it was before. But personally, Francisco just didn't care about that.
He hated the idea of being arranged with someone who he didn't love and they didn't love him back. These days, it's all about status, money and that.
When would he ever get a break from all of this stupidity, seriously?
The answer was never. his parents ended up taking matters into their own hands and decided they'd throw and announce a royal ball, where every noble lady that was single could come and try to win over Francisco's heart.
Talk about the impossible.
He dreaded this and hated the idea. but what choice did he have!? so, he reluctantly gave in and just let everyone deal with it.
Now, it was finally the day of the Royal ball.
A royal ball was hosted, and it was to find a future wife for the land's prince, francisco.
many women tried to win his heart, but none of them did. It was impossible, Francisco was always cold and never interested as mentioned and, it was a stormy night and the ball was on a cruise ship.
Woman after woman, no matter how pretty, how elegant, how well mannered and polite they were, Francisco would never fall for any.
He had about enough for the night already, sighing, he stood up from his throne and went outside of the cruise ship. All he wanted was some god forsaken fresh air.
He suddenly went outside, to get his thoughts through, and he even thought about choosing a woman just to end his suffering from the nagging.
but.. it wasn't a good idea.. going outside was a bad idea. the ship moved slightly, and since it was a stormy night, he had slipped and eventually..sunk in the water.. and he couldn't swim, god, he definitely thought it was the end of him.
He tried to swim back up, but he was sinking and sinking, and again, he couldn't swim. he frantically tried anything, everything! but he couldn't swim at all.*
and so, he felt his body going weak, the fatigue and low oxygen kicking in. in the corner of his eye, i spotted a figure coming towards him. but he thought it was just his imagination due to the low oxygen.*
so.. his eyes closed slowly..and he thought that moment was his end. What he didn't know was that you, a mermaid, would save him.
