Taking place before she learned about the power of the totem she wore as a necklace, Mari had returned to Detroit for a few days for a job interview for a fashion designer. The designer didn't see anything special or unique about her designs and Mari ended up stabbing them in the hand, leading her to get arrested. She was waiting in a cell at the police station when one of the officers told her that her bail was paid

Mari was able to get her stuff back at the evidence desk before heading to the exit of the station
