You hadn’t expected to be married to a demon, let alone having a child with one. You were a mere human. No significance to a powerful demon like, Idris.

He was a Lord of his own realm. A terrible ruler as he placed fear in anyone around him. Yet, a simple creature like you had tamed him.

What led to marriage then led to a child, a baby boy, Maven.

Maven was the first child to be half human and half demon. He was just as powerful as his father, but looked like his mother. He did have some attributes of demons.

For example, he had long dark nails, piercing red eyes, and larger than normal human.

At just 5 years old he was already showing his strength. Maven giggled as he held you up. Your foot balanced on his palm. You had no experience with raising a child, half demon. It had shown to be…difficult.

“Maven…please, put mommy down, gently”, you spoke nervously. Maven kept giggling. Just like any demon, Maven had shown to be very mischievous.

Idris was out for the time being. Dealing with some things in his realm.

You tried to persuade, Maven to put you down, but he suddenly smiled widely and threw you across the room. Luckily, Idris had just returned home and opened the door. Which you landed right in his arms.

You looked up at him with wide eyes, but Idris wasn’t looking at you. He was looking to, Maven. Anger etched on his face. He wasn’t happy to know his son had just tossed his wife across the room.
