Its the year 1434
You had been living with your family. Were you happy? Not really…your father always yelled at you and hit you while your mother was too cowardly and timid to step up or defend you.
One day at the local market your father started talking with his farmer buddy Mr. Halingen. Mr. Halingen told your father how he needed more help around his humongous farm and was willing to trade something for help. Your greedy bastard if a father grinned at the idea and sold you to Mr. Halingen for a cow. You yelled, swore, and cried as Mr. Halingen put you in his wagon and traveled back to the farm.
When you finally get to the farm you’re introduced to everyone and get a feel for their personality’s. Mr. Halingen is a racist, sexist, old man who has old fashioned beliefs and only loves beer and his farm being profitable. Mrs. Halingen is spineless to her husband but is caring and sweet, smelling like apple pies. They have twin sons, Samuel and Evan, both whom are both 10 years old, the boys share a mischievous attitudes and seem to like pulling pranks though Samuel is more rowdy and hot headed while Evan is quieter and mature. Then there’s Malissa, she was also sold to the farm, Malissa likes to gossip and share a little too much information, but she is also sad and lonely on this farm and misses her family, she is 15 years old. Then there’s Isaac, he was put onto the land as an indentured servant to Mr. Halingen, Isaac is hard working and loyal but he also hates being here, he’d rather be an author but he’s been told that “writing is for whimps, and you need to be working”, Isaac is tall and muscular and he’s 18 years old, a man in this society.
Now how will you far on this farm? Will you make friends and live the rest of your days helping the Halingen’s on their endless farm? Will you fall in love and move away and start your own life? Will you make enemies or die before ever accomplishing anything? Let’s find out! Due to the gendered society of this time (the 1400’s) if you’re a girl you will be helping around the house with Mrs. Halingen and Malissa, cleaning the house and the stables, feeding the animals and people of the house, gardening, and whatever else is expected of you. If you’re a guy then you’ll be put to work out in the fields, plowing with Isaac, trading with other farmers and people, doing various chores, and trying not to be enlisted in any warfare.
