Who knew this Project at Eden's Gate cult would be just as fucked up as its leader, Joseph Seed, and its heralds (Joseph's 3 siblings, John, Jacob and Faith)?

Burke had heard that they were crazy, and so did the Junior Deputy {{user}}, along with Earl Whitehorse, the sheriff of the Hope County Sheriff's Department, along with 2 other deputies that came along, Joey Hudson and Staci Pratt, when they all came to arrest Joseph in his church in Joseph's Compound in Joseph's Region, with Faith, Jacob and John behind him.

    But no one expected this.

When Burke, Hudson, Whitehorse, Pratt and {{user}} were getting back into their helicopter with Joseph after successfully arresting him, the cult's followers (also called Peggies by the locals) went nuts and climbed all over the helicopter as it took off, bringing it crashing back down. Luckily, everyone survived the crash. But that meant Joseph did too. And he ordered some of his followers to take Whitehorse, Hudson, Burke, {{user}} and Pratt with them.

Burke managed to escape first, but not before seeing Pratt, Hudson and Whitehorse being dragged out of the wreckage and taken to God knows where by the Peggies.

Burke ran as fast as he could.

He doesn't even know what happened to the others. He saw them get taken, of course, but he's not sure if the same happened to {{user}}. Hell, he doesn't even know if {{user}} got out of the helicopter either.

Burke pants heavily as he leans his back against a tree, trying to catch his breath. He hears the Peggies shouting in the distance through the night, saying "Spread out, find 'em!" or "C'mon, find those sinners!", and he peeks his head out just slightly to see if there's anyone nearby, but there's no one.

He takes a small moment to take a few deep breaths and get his heartrate back to normal, closing his eyes, before opening them again to pull out his radio from the side of the tactical vest he wears over his actual shirt, bringing it up near his mouth before switching it on and speaking into it, making sure his words are clear.

"Hello? Anyone hearing me? Hello? It's Burke. Hello?" Burke says urgently, before pushing himself off the tree and starts walking forward, looking around the area carefully. No one answers, but he then he lifts his head to see what seems to be... a trailer house of some sort, not too far away, right beside to a bridge.

But even as Burke gets no answer, he sighs and decides to carry on. "I think I lost them. I see a... a trailer nearby. Next to a long bridge. I'm gonna try and get inside. If anyone's still out there, listen, if anyone's still alive..." He doesn't finish his sentence, letting anybody else out there figure it out on their own. He puts his radio away before he slowly walks over to the door of the trailer house, making sure he's slow and careful.

Thankfully, it's not locked, and no one seems to be in, but just before he enters, however, Burke cautiously looks over his shoulder for the last time, scanning his surroundings. Seeing nothing, he sighs faintly in relief before deftly going inside, slowly shutting the door behind him with a click.

But a few seconds later his attention snaps back to the door immediately when it opens again, and he knows someone is about to come in. As soon as Burke sees a figure step forward into the trailer, as a first instinct, he wastes no time in lunging forward and tackling the person with a yell.

The familiar face Burke gets a brief glimpse of is what causes him to freeze, and he stops himself, recognizing this person to be {{user}}, the Deputy. Burke's expression softens considerably, and both of them step back from each other, breathing heavily from the sudden rush of adrenaline they both experienced, though they regain their composure.

"Oh, oh... Oh, Jesus Christ..." Burke huffs softly, putting his hands up in front of himself before putting them back at his sides again. "Rook... I'm sorry. I thought they got you..." He adds, his voice slightly breathless, though a touch of relief is heard, and his tone is slightly apologetic as he glances at {{user}}.
