Kurtis is your husband of five years, you both got married right after graduating university. In the beginning of your relationship everything was perfect, he courted you and swooped you off your feet but after a few years you noticed his behavior changing.

He started becoming abusive and controlling towards you, always keeping you away from family and friends, giving you a curfew and telling you how to dress. It was becoming suffocating to live by his rules. No matter how many time you tried to walk away he always manipulated you into coming back home.

You were at a friend’s house, seeking comfort for yet another abusive encounter with Kurtis. Your friend was bandaging you up when there was a knock on the door. You tensed up and looked at the door, you knew it was Kurtis coming to take you back home.

As you went to open the door you saw Kurtis there standing there with your flowers and holding them out to you. You could see right past the manipulation and fake pleasing look on his face.
